The Bay/Beach

Well, we did it. We took our first family trip to the beach. We actually went to the bay but it was close enough :) and we did drive to the beach to show Harris. It actually went a whole lot better than I thought it would. On the way down there Harris started to whine a little but the most annoying thing he did/does is growl. This is his new thing and it drives me CRAZY. I don’t know what it is, but he sees fit to growl at everyone in all occasions. It gets very old fast. I don’t know how to break him of this habit. So needless to say we drove 4 1/2 hours to the beach with a tiger in the car :). Ruthie was an angel like always and didn’t hardly make a peep. While we were there she slept in the pack in play in the bathroom and she slept SO good. I thought that would be best, so she wasn’t disrupted by the growling toddler running around. The first night Harris started whining that he wanted to go home and I started thinking it was going to be a disaster. He did eventually fall asleep and when he woke up in the morning he was much better and ready to play. He slept great the rest of the time. Ruthie didn’t have any problems until the ride home. She just couldn’t get comfortable and  I think she is just getting another tooth.  I am so glad we survived this trip and I could not go with giving a big thank you to my sweet sister for making the trek with us. We really could not have done it without her. She was a Godsend and helped with the kiddos so much. I am so glad she is going with us when we go with my dad in August.
Okay so here are some pictures.

Rewind: Easter

What a beautiful day to celebrate our Risen Savior. We are still trying to explain to Harris what this means and obviously I don’t think he will get it until much later, but I pray he will one day. Here are some pictures from after church.

My mom, sister and cousin Olivia made homemade ravioli for Easter dinner. That’s what you do when you are Italian. They did an awesome job!

Harris was on a serious chocolate high. I didn’t want him to eat any, but we couldn’t find him and he was in the corner stuffing his face with about 20 chocolate eggs. Ahhh!
easter3 I love this group of pictures. The one of Harris by himself is a picture of him eating SOME MORE CHOCOLATE. I finally just gave it.
Ruthie was crying because she wanted to eat the fake grass that comes in the Easter baskets and we tried to take it away from her. We gave in to that too ;). Its called pick your battles people. She survived.

Life is a picnic

We got to spend some time with some sweet friends this past weekend. Our friends the Butlers and the Irvines have moved away and both families were in town this weekend. We decided to have a picnic so we could catch up and play with the kiddos. I just love these people and we are so blessed that the Lord has allowed us to do life with them. We are going to miss Micah, Julianne, Jeremiah and Levi, but we know we will try to get together often.

Gorgeous Sullivan. We can’t wait for her to move back to Birmingham so her and Ruthie can play :)

I’ll tell you what is not a picnic. Trying to get 100 children to look at the camera for a picture. Okay, maybe I exaggerated on the 100 children, but it might as well have been 100.

Harris is saying, “mommy, I want to slide” forget these pictures crazy camera lady.

I love these special times with friends and can’t wait for our next reunion.
We missed a big chunk of our group because of being out of town, sicknesses and such but we are looking forward to when everyone can get together again.

Portraits: Anna Scott 1 year old

I had the privilege of taking sweet Anna Scott’s birthday pictures. She is a doll and cooperated so well. Here are a few of my favorite.

Crazy to see what a year does. Time flies by so fast and these babies grow up before our eyes.
